Rochester Vidhalaya mission is to promote the Arts, Music, Culture and Education of South East Asia (India and Indian Subcontinent) in Greater Rochester, Minnesota since 2010. Started by Dr. Anantha Kollengode, Deepak Kartha, Tosh Bimbra, Rajiv Jarardhan and Dr. Vivek Iyer as Swaralaya in 2010, it merged with Layyasaaram Institute of Indian Arts in 2012 to organize as a 501(3) C Minnesota Not For profit Organization. In 2021, formed as a not for profit group (RVMN.ORG) with the Diversity Council, Rochester, MN as the Fiscal Agent to manage the finances.In the last decade, RVMN.ORG has conducted classes for various Indian Arts form including Carnatic Vocal Music, Hindustani Vocal Music, South Indian Instrumental Music (Veena, Mridangam), North Indian Instrumental Music (Harmonium, Tabla), Indian Language School (Hindi) . Over 500 students have benefitted from these classes. RVMN.ORG has organized several cultural events including Festival of Lights in 2011, 2012, 2013 in collaboration with the Hindu Samaj Temple and since 2014 to 2021 with the Diwali Committee of Rochester at Kahler Grand Hotel. The Festival of Colors were organized by RVMN.ORG in 2012 to 2014. RVMN.ORG also organizes the Festival of Dance (Dandia Raas) since 2011 in Rochester Minnesota. Attendances in each of these events were Several concerts featuring local, Regional, National and Artists from India was organized in Rochester and in Minneapolis. Each of these concerts attracted 25 to 200 attendees. Students of RVMN.ORG over the years have performed in numerous community events including Diwali (2011 to 2020), Festival of Colors (2011 to 2018), Rochesterfest (2011 to 2018), Eagles Telethon (2019), India Independence Day (2015, 2016), Farmfest 2020-2021 among other events.A Discover India week long summer camp was held in summer of 2016 to promote the arts, music, history, sports and culture of India with over 15 attendees including students from Arizona and Tenessesse attend.In 2018, a cultural event to promote the food and fusion of India was organized - Salam E Ishq .
